The fourteenth-century watch tower called I Cerri (“The Turkey Oaks”, from the Latin Quercus cerris) quietly overlooks the countryside of the Spoleto Valley towards the Tiber Valley and Tuscany. I Cerri, with its sixteenth-century dovecote, has now been fully refurbished and is offering a cosy, refined base to those wishing to get to know this part of hidden Umbria and central Italy. The self-contained, fully furnished flat is set out on two levels. The inbuilt floor-heating works perfectly right throughout.
