Kerkstraat
The Kerkstraat-area is one of the oldest gay-areas around town, and is
situated near the Leidseplein, where the Casino and City Theatre are. The
Leidseplein is the area for most straight people to go out. The Kerkstraat
nevertheless, is a cosy, gay friendly neighborhood. You will also find most
of the gay hotels here. |
|
Museum Quarter
A beautifull and quiet area in town, close to the 'Quartier Latin' of
Amsterdam ("de Pijp"); average about 10 minutes away from the Leidseplein
and Kerkstraat area. |
|
Vondelpark Quarter
The most beautifull buildings in town can be found here; lovely and quiet.
Please be aware that the Vondelpark is quite big; if you stay at the
down-town city side, you may be a few minutes walk away from the Leidseplein
and Kerkstraat area. However, if you stay at the opposite side of the park,
it may take you more then half an hour walk. Renting a bike might be a good
idea in that case. |
