Tara Firma Inn – Volcano is enveloped in the Hawaiian rain forest. Come relax and enjoy. The smell of cedar meets at the door and welcomes you in. Giant ferns surround the house and it feels very pre-historic. Dinosaurs could have lived in a place like this. We are located three miles from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the continuous lava flow (since 1983) from Kilauea Volcano. This area was once kapu (forbidden) except to royalty. Volcano has been a haven since the 1800s as a summer place to escape the heat. Volcano is now home to artists, farmers and is famous for its beautiful orchids.
