Dexter's Inn is steeped in Provincetown history. In the early1800's the site of Dexter's was part of a farm that supplied draft horses for local work. Because of its proximity to the Provincetown Harbor, it was later converted into a fish salting and drying compound, explaining the high content of salt scattered throughout the property to this day.
